the originality : Band names gone bland
Let's be honest here, modern band names SUCK. Within the past two years there has been an unprecedented movement towards band name homogenization. Before I get a silent "who cares" fired back at me, let me argue that this is a symptom of the bigger problem. Is it any wonder that so many of these bands create music that is just bland, recycled copies of itself?
Here's the short list: The music, the hives, the white stripes, the format, the finals, the weakerthans, the arcade fire, the stills, the killers, the shins, the strokes, the postal service (feel free to join in)...
All I'm saying here people is enough is enough already. For many this article comes too late, your band name has been immortalized in jewel casing, but for the new bands there is still hope! Don't let that pesky label or fellow band mates make you into the next naming tragedy. Hm. The Tragedy. Not bad...

Support this worthy cause
There comes a time when we the people must step up and let our voices be heard. This is not a time to shy away from the might of the pen, but a time to step up and prevent future atrocities. Do not wait another minute, sign this petition to stop Ashlee Simpson before its too late.

Time to Sell the Volvo: Alexakis files for bankruptcy
After declaring artistic bankruptcy several years ago, Art's finances have finally followed suit. It's hard not to feel a little bit sorry for Art, and you know I was the die-hard Everclear fan of the '90's, but things have changed, and this latest news is just the nail in the coffin. As announced today, Alexakis has filed for bankruptcy in California.
While Everclear rocked my soul with "Sparkle and Fade" and "So Much for the Afterglow", their songs took a decidedly formulated, radio-friendly turn, subsequently loosing my interest. After a lousy concert I attended in which Art seemed to care more about somebody throwing something at him than singing properly, I gave up on the band that was once one of my top three bands. Money may not be the root of all that kills, but it sure didn't help this rocker gone wrong.

We have the recording power
Now what do we do with it?
Check out Jamie's latest sampler, Three Ring Circus, with band websites coming soon.
Also, my work in progress, the eternal Zinque Archive, which I hope will be a lasting website for all to enjoy for decades. It also has nearly complete Zinque MP3 downloads.
