The Job Search is Over!
I am proud to announce that I have accepted a full-time position at the Huh Corporation as an eMarketing Consultant. For those unfamiliar with Huh they are a dynamic e-business marketing, design and consulting agency with lots of prestigious clients. I will be pretty busy doing eCommerce and eMoving, but I will still try to update carobert.com as often as possible. I am really excited about my future and stuff.

Rick Emerson taken off the air!
It has come to my attention that the last bastion of hope for radio has gone off the air! Local Portland radio may never be the same. Rick Emerson (and the entire radio station 910AM he was on) has vanished from radio, overnight, never to return. Us geeky listeners are left to try to figure out WHAT HAPPENED???
For the time being, take a look at his site and maybe take a listen (as I think they are going to start podcasting the show sans radio station). He has a movie about his rock and roll childhood coming out called Bigger Than Jesus, that you might want to check out. (I saw the play and it was heelarious!) Also, send a coffee cup to the idiota at Entercom Radio.
Update: 4.30.2005: There's an article in the Oregonian about the demise of MAX910 and the death rattle of corporate radio...

1) George Lucas is a marketing whore
2) Just because the last couple have been box office failures doesn't mean the end for ANY movie these days (Can you say "Scooby Doo 2"?)
3) Even the biggest bigillionaire runs out of money eventually (or his kids?) and they always come back to the cash cow. Read More ...

Cheapskate's Guide to Free and Legal MP3's
I think there are many out there who would like some new tunes, but don't want to feed the nasty RIAA monsters. Many of us don't have a lot of extra money for buying new music, but at the same time feeling morally obligated not to venture into the illegal download realm. God knows you're not going to find any new tunes on the radio, so the internet is really our only hope. I put forth this as a guide to the many free and legal mp3 resources on the internet.
