Four Boys Gone Home

Four Boys Gone Home

Tim and Anton had been playing together in a band called Instant Karma for a year or so, and I didn't really want to be their bassist, as I wanted to keep fresh for my band Zinque which was now separated by college. However they talked me into it my sophomore year in college, and we started playing.

I wasn't really into being in a "frat band", but at least we had a place to play. However, the rest of the frat guys in the house didn't really dig being chased out of the frat house every time we practiced. I thought it was kind of funny.

The name IV Boys (pronounced "eye-vee boys") is a joke really. We called ourselves Four Boys Gone Home, but it was printed up on a flyer as "IV Boys Gone Home", so everyone thought our name was IV Boys. I liked it better. In our last couple concerts we were renamed again to Groaver, but it really never caught on.

Countless college and frat gigs later we called it quits. We amassed a great deal of music in that time, however many of the songs had "borrowed" aspects to them and were barely originals. I became busy with The Fantastic Yabbies and the IV Boys were history.
