Saves the Day
WebsiteI was drawn to this band early on during my days at KSLC, however a couple of spins of their album "Through Being Cool" cured me of that infatuation. From what I remember, this is a terrible album.
The good news is that I gave them a second chance, and the follow up to that album "Stay What You Are" redeemed them of their previous blunders. Chris Conley's eternally youthful, bordering on whiney voice can get to you after a while, but this band generally equates a positive listening experience. Emo to the core, these guys were forever destined to be on the Vagrant label.
I have had a chance to briefly listen to their 2004 release, "Ups and Downs", a collection of their early recordings and b-sides which I thought sounded pretty good, though I never ended up buying it.
